Obviously there is no benefit of GMO foods to the consumer, but plenty of potential risks. There is not one approved GMO trait that any consumer would feel they get a benift from. Most of the technology has to do with round up resistance so when farmers speed through fields spraying herbicide they don't have be concerned about over-spraying and killing their round up resitanct crops. As a friend of mine once said " If round up can't kill it, I sure don't want to eat it.

Such experimental, untested technology only really benefits the producers of the technology- the biotech companies.
