Fall 2009 will be the Bioneers' 20th anniversary! We'll be celebrating and participating by, of course, hosting our own local Northland Bioneers Conference shortly after the national conference in San Rafael, CA. Stay posted here and on our website for updates and information about this year's conference.

The 2009 plenary lineup is already available on the national Bioneers website, at www.bioneers.org. These plenaries will be shown via DVD at our local conference, along with local and regional speakers, performers, workshops, and exhibitors. We hope to see you there!

Bioneers Conferences inspire a shift to live on Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other and future generations.

The 3rd Annual Northland Bioneers Conference was a wonderful success!! Thanks to those of you who joined us and helped to make the weekend all the more inspiring, informative, and uplifting.

More information is available at www.nbconference.org/

Help us keep the reverberations flowing by joining our online community, posting to the discussion forum below, and signing up for e-mail updates on our website. We hope to see and hear from you... before next year's conference!

In your opinion, what's it mean to be an educated person? Should we rethink the ways public education serves its crucial role in the development of a sustainable society? Are you interested in fostering the development of schools with environment-focused educational programs and practices? These and other important questions will be discussed at the 2010 Green Schools National Conference in the Twin Cities. Want to help plan the conference?

Hello, Although I currently live in AZ (I am teaching school here and plan to retire in 2 more years). At that time I will return home to NW Lower Michigan and so I have a great deal of interest in what is going on with Bioneers and the permaculture/sustainability community in the northern reaches of the US. I am also a member of the Northern MI Perm. Guild, have a certificate of class completion from the Phoenix Perm. Guild and have a great deal of interest in the Great Lakes Bioneers located in the Grand Traverse Region of MI.

I love the quote I read in the comments below, ""The world is run by those who show up." We either get it or we don't - nothing more needs to be said.

It's election day, and we are less than two weeks out from the Northland Bioneers Conference here in Minneapolis. Regardless of the outcome, it has been exciting to see the lines at the polls and to feel the energy of civic engagement in action! I expect our conference will have a similar tone -- neighbors gathering to share their knowledge and their dreams, coming together because they want to make change, because they want to be involved.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about a quote I heard once: "The world is run by those who show up." I tell my friends, this conference is our chance to show up. And the inspiration and information we take from it will help us keep showing up every day.

In the days leading up to the Northland Bioneers Conference, and the months after, we invite you all to use this site to share thoughts, ideas, links, articles, organizations, research studies, events, questions, and dialogue. Help us make this site a resource for its members, and a place where we can all stay connected and support each other to do good work in the world!

Good luck at the polls today, and we'll see you at Willey Hall on Nov. 15-16!

Hello from the Northland where we are beginning to feel a bit of spring with the onset of May! Many of us are so excited to be a part of the Bioneers extended family and are diligently working on producing our 3rd conference! I look forward to any advice from others out there who have had success with their satellite conferences! Perhaps there will be a sound word of wisdom from those who feel led to contribute their stories about marketing Bioneers to a diverse audience??

Welcome to Northland Bioneers! This is a brand new group, created in anticipation of next fall's 3rd annual Northland Bioneers Conference (a satellite location of the National Conference). Help us bring Minnesota Bioneers together and get some good conversations going! I look forward to the discussion, and hopefully seeing many of you next fall!
