Before you think I've gone mad, let me explain myself: Bees need our help.
Diminishing open space, pesticides, and colony collapse disorder made 2007 a rough year for one of the most critical parts of our ecosystem, honeybees.
And thus, I've decided to host bees in my city backyard.
Come spring, I'll order a nucleus colony and get started. Until then, I'm reading everything I can get my hands on and resolving that 2008 will be the year of the honeybee, at least in my backyard.
