Victory gardens are great, if you do it right. I think bioneering can offer a lot of tricks to make for a healthy garden. I'm trying to figure it out myself and would love suggestions and thoughts. -Ed (http://madbioneer.blogspot.com)

I've moved to rural northeastern Oregon and will be growing a lot of my own.

I moved here from Brooklyn - so it's a giant change!

I also built hyperlocavore.com to promote yardsharing arrangements for people who need help getting growing. Often we don't have all the things we need to grow our own. One of the four major things may be lacking; time, space, skills or strength. Yardsharing is a way to get all of those things together in one group of people.

If you think this idea will be of use to any communities you know of please share the link.

Hi. Greetings. I just joined this group. I am an ecological gardener in Northern California. These days I just can't see why anyone would use conventional techniques, but they do. Even here in this progressive area, I feel like I'm on the front lines of some extreme leftist campaign, trying to work in a permaculture model. At this moment I feel frustrated, although I want to put something positive and sunny out to the group!

QUESTION ON NATURAL MEANS OF ERADICATING CODDLING MOTH ON APPLE TREE. I have a potential new client who sprays with neem and she thinks this is the bright way to deal with this problem. I'm trying to find alternatives. I know there must be a cultural control out there that can be developed through ecology design. Would love advice, resources, tips! Thanks much.

I am the daughter of a farmer. My hubby and I bought a house three years ago that had 15 raised beds where I could garden. I replaced all the dirt with organic soil and invested in organic seeds. Then, I noticed my neighbors having their lawn, trees and shrubs sprayed with Talstar and Orthene. Guess where the drift went. My organic garden is not organic anymore.

What can I do?

Here's an article on creating victory gardens in the city that I found worth reading.
