About Me:: Having taught sustainable agriculture and managed various organic and natural agriculture projects around the country for the past 20 years, I have now settled in central Ohio with my family where we are putting all we have learned in to action on our own place. We are developing our small (5 acre) eco-farm and goat dairy with the goal of being locally independent ourselves and contributing to independence of our local community.

While We Were Sleeping - Food Safety Regulations Creep Forward

Acres U.S.A. - September 2009 p.8 "Farmers Market Crackdown - The Ohio Department of Health/Department of Agriculture has issued a Notice of Violation to farmer Kris Oluich at a farmers market in Lake County. The notice states that it is a violation to offer cleaned and rinsed "lettuce and mixed greens" in a backage. It must be sold dirty, the notice adds. This is due to new rules for "food processing." I'm the crazy guy that wants PEACE clean and healthy air, water, food, etc...
but with a twist. It's not going to come from the ones who say they want to give it to us!

I called the sponsor of H.R. 875 and all the co-sponsors last week.
A lot of the mid-west states, Oregon, California and Hawaii have received the most resistance to this thing. The co-sponsor in Oregon told me "They don't see this bill going anywhere but who knows?"

I talked to some people I know that work at the FDA and basically they expressed the same point of view.

We all know the corporate agenda... "The Soils of War" except in America they don't need a gun.

With all the mainstream news about food contamination we all know they are definitely pushing this on the general public who are still asleep.
