Welcome everybody (all four of us). We don't have a lot here yet so this would be a good time to start gathering resources and discussing group/hypoxic.

There. I added the missing photos of our Jersey cow, Daisy mothering the newly-weaned calves in the fog and a picture of my sister Debby before the accident during the worst ice storm ever.

As you walk into New Orleans' Ninth Ward from the Bywater over St. Claude bridge, make a left and go on down Deslonde to Roman. There you'll find Common Ground Relief's little blue house. Those very expensive super-efficient homes are across the s...

Thanks for your post! Amongst the other news you shared, it's nice to hear about grass and fog (we're up here in the high-desert mountains outside of Santa Fe, NM).

One little hopeful about your statement: "There is no research being done to support the small diversified farm, or local agriculture." The USDA's Agricultural Research Service may have a "faction" that is thinking about actual sustainability and...

Wow, Great Post! Welcome to the weird and wild world of cyber farming. We're doing the same (except with goats and without any major accidents (yet, touch wood) in East Central Ohio. I'll be following your adventures if you keep posting.

It is tough for us men, as you suspect, Nina S. The military-industrial complex is an internal thing for us.. in the mind. My time in New Orleans was a ripping experience with a roller-coaster ride of emotion. I was there during that celebration, ...

I was an activist in the '70s. I was first inspired by R. Buckminster Fuller's I Seem to be a Verb and was beginning to understand the need for a "design science revolution". Later I audited a course at Wash U. in St Louis by a professor named Dr....

So am I seeing this correctly? This post has been sitting here at Bioneers.org for a year and a week and I'm the first to comment? Outlandish! The economy tag is how I found it because I used it on one of my blog posts. CC is speaking a new langu...

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm kind of floating right now...watching and waiting. I have some nice music to share that I think would go nicely in eco-documentaries. I'd like to get in a group that's doing one of those. I'm going to help change the world. People are beginning to wake up for good. The same new ideas are entering many minds at the same time all over the planet. Something great is coming. Watch.
What are you working on?
I'm working on a family farm in Western Kentucky. It's primarily an intensive grass farm for Polled Hereford cattle with some row crop (corn, wheat, soybeans). I have hundreds of ideas about methods and machines.

I been in computing since the '70s. I'm doing a lot of study on Linux systems and I'm always looking at the role of the Internet as we go along. Keyline design for permaculture using GPS/GIS is a focal point.

Working in the Fog

We finally got some rain! The "Red Love Mix" - especially the teff (love grass) - is up! Now our Herefords have something to look forward to... perhaps. We'll see.

When I woke up this morning and looked for the sunshine, I saw a dense fog instead. I looked over at the corral where a group of 11 weaning Hereford calves have been bawling since they got here a couple of days ago. They are the offspring of P60 who is the chief sire sold years ago to one of our co-operating farms. We bought these fa… Continue

Working in the Sun

Every day, old Sol makes his pass across our sky. Thinking about an economy based in water, soil and sunlight is my bailiwick. But I must keep the people side in focus too. Having returned to my home county after a three-year adventure to other parts, mostly urban, gives me a novel set of parameters to work with. What I am learning is that the American mind is forgetful of the American core values, and value is the basis of economy. Both city people and county folks must know that the clouds, th… Continue

Working in the Rain

I got the 20 or so acres of "Red Love Mix" sown in. Now we need to order some rain. Actually, in the spirit realm you don't place orders, but you can do a rain dance, pray, beseech, beg or just wait. The might and grace of big puffy clouds transporting tons and tons of water in vapor form across the afternoon sky assures me that someone is going to get a delivery.

Today, I went down into the creek, which isn't easy. It's very overgrown and wild and last winter's ice storm left fallen lim… Continue

Working in the Rain

I do some of my best work in the rain. I wish I had time to tell you about it, but I hear thunder. Gotta run. Later.

I tried hyperlinking to Ursa Freedom Project but I think Bioneers has that feature turned off. So find us on the Ning network under Ursa Freedom Project. http://ursafreedomproject.ning.com

Hi Charley -
I read about you wanting to use your music for social change. You are going to love Ursa Freedom Project and our Benefit for the Bears concert series. I'm working on putting together a YouTube channel for a talent search and need some help with that too. If you write and produce a song for the moonbears I will add your song to our playlist. We are working with artists to produce an animated music video to tell the story of the bears and we've got a children's book in the making that will need a music CD to go with it for school curriculum. So come and be a part of our Ursa action network to free the bears from bile farms!
