Hi Kenny
We have met through Gigi Coyle at BIONEERS a few years ago. I am President of the Ojai Foundation. We are hosting Joanna Macy at the end of October for an INtergenerational INtensive. It's a rare and special opportunity. Can you help spread the word? To learn more , go to

You asked for my experiences at the Cleveland Bioneers in '07. Obviously, I am a bit late. The 07 was good but the 08 was much better. It seems like groups/organizations/communities get 'better' as time goes on if they stick with the vision. How can we teach that? I am not sure it is teachable from without but only comes by continuing to work as a partnership. I am starting early this year to get my plans for this year's conference worked out. I want to help the Cleveland Bioneers conference because I am from there, there is starting to be a bigger and bigger community of people who want to see a basic fundamental change in how we value ourselves and our environment. Because Cleveland is not going to be 'live' this year I get to choose to come to CA. I hope it works out with family that I can. I would volunteer for duty right now if I knew who to contact. I am doing some things professionally that I hope will help educate more people. One of them is developing a TV show called Sustainable Life where I discover the people who are all ready living the solutions, telling their story, showing the audience how, where and why they have chosen to live a sustainable life and how someone else can participate also. I am not an Ed Begley, but I can identify with his passion and determination. I am not going to have 'famous' people on/in the show because I find it hard to identify with people who have 3 times the rooms I have in my house. I want to make sure everyone knows that EVERY little bit helps and in a very practical and pragmatic way that is all that many people have to give right now. Mostly, I hope to change the perspective, change the focus, the language, thinking!!! What we take for granted has so much to do with our inability to see how much we can do without any more technological innovation right now. I also know that we need to have a spiritual component that weaves its way into the conversation/story because that is part of the foundation of our humanness and being alive. I have gone on and on. to much for a blog. Sorry
It's my pleasure to join this group, one of my goals in life is to number Paul Hawkins and Kenny Ausubel among my friends. (now that we have a new cyber definition of friends, I'll have to reevaluate...but the sentiment remains.)
Thank you for being a part of the online community. It says alot when a person who is as busy as you are takes the time to be involved at this level. I have been to 6 out of the last 7 Bioneers conferences but not always in San Rafeal. This year I attended in my hometown of cleveland and I was blown away. Bioneers has contributed to my family being part of the sustainable movement. We are doing rennovations to our home and have worked hard to make sure everything done is sustainable. I also have made a committement to have a Bioneers conference in the Caribbean this coming May 29.

Hi Kenny,
We're enjoying Bioneers (our third time) via satellite in Salt Lake City. This has been a transformational event for us! Because of Bioneers we now have an urban homestead. Thank you for all of your hard work! Here's a pic from street artist banksy. our home theme has been to SLOW DOWN and take back our time.
